David played his first professional gigs when he was 20 on the U.S. military bases in Germany. David lived in Germany for many years and played in many bands there, including the backing band of German Country and Western star, Gunther Gabriel. In 1983, David returned to England and secured a job in one of the country's top function bands, The Dark Blues. The high point was playing at Buckingham Palace for Prince Charles' 40th birthday party.

In 1996 David recorded Wintersun, A CD of his own compositions plus blues classic "The thrill has gone". At the end of 2005 David recorded Down in Belmont another CD of his own work. This album features some fabulous musicians who have recorded and played with some of the big names in R&B jazz and blues: Graham Walker (drums on Gary Moore's Still got the Blues); Derek Nash (tenor and alto, Jools Holland Band); Gary Sanctuary (too many to name) and Gary Plumley (tenor sax, Swing out Sister, Snowboy). Derek Nash did all of the brass arrangements and Gary Sanctuary did string the arrangement on Summer Lightning and synth arrangement on "Waking Time". The brass section is completed by Winston Rollin (trombone) and Jon Scott (trumpet) who also play with Jools Holland. James Walbourne (lap steel, Down in Belmont) plays with Bap Kennedy.

Since 1990 David has played in a band called Duck Soup with fellow guitar player, Nigel Bagge. Playing in pubs and clubs in Kent and Sussex they have created a great following with their distinctive brand of Blues/R&B.

In 1997 David formed his own function band, The Executives. The Executives are a versatile and exciting band, playing a broad range of popular music from jazz standards to Sinatra, rock and roll, soul classics, 70's disco right through to the present day. Featuring some of the best musicians from London and the southeast, The Executives will make you want to dance all night and with such a wealth of experience, The Executives party band is the ideal choice for your party.
